I am humbled that the great people of the 23rd senate district re-elected me in 2015 to serve them for four more years. Serving Virginia and the 23rd senate district is truly a honor and privilege.
Bedford County
Bedford County is one of the fastest growing counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It encompasses 764 square miles of Piedmont Plateau in the Western Central portion of Virginia and is bordered by the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west, the James River on its northeast and Smith Mountain Lake to the south. Bedford County is part of the Lynchburg Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Botetourt County
Botetourt County is located in the southwestern portion of the state in the scenic Roanoke Valley of Virginia. Strategically located on Interstate 81 and just 20 miles from Interstate 64, Botetourt County is accessible to the markets of the Mid-West and the East. Botetourt County is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Campbell County
Campbell County, settled in 1736 and incorporated in 1781, is located in Virginia’s south central Piedmont region in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The area is rich in both natural beauty and history. Campbell County was named for General William Campbell, the Revolutionary War hero famous for his leadership in defeating the Tories and Loyalists at the Battle of King’s Mountain in the Carolinas. Campbell County is part of the Lynchburg Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Craig County
Craig County is located in the the western portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia, north of the City of Roanoke and the Roanoke Urbanized Area. New Castle is the county seat. The county is marked by a succession of mountain ridges, running northeast-southwest. The valleys and creeks between the ridges provide for agriculture and population centers. Lynchburg City
Lynchburg is a city of 50 square miles located near the geographic center of the state, bordered by the eastern edge of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It is located approximately 180 miles southwest of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
Roanoke County
Roanoke County is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area and located within the Roanoke Region of Virginia. Significant areas of the county are rural and mountainous. Roanoke County is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.
